Runway
Runway is built and operated in the EU!

Location matters

At Runway, we don't just talk about it: we build for privacy.

No hyperscalers

Our platform runs on carefully chosen providers — none of them are Amazon, Google, or Microsoft. That's a deliberate decision. Hosting your application shouldn't mean handing your data to foreign jurisdictions, or navigating legal entanglements like the US CLOUD Act. European All data deserves European protection.

Berlin, on our own iron

Runway runs out of two data centers in Berlin, connected by a private fibre ring and operated with our partner Planetary Networks. If you care where your data lives — and who has access to it — so do the people building Runway →

Digital sovereignty

Sovereignty means staying in control — of your data, your stack, and who you depend on. Runway is built and operated by an EU company, under EU law, on EU infrastructure — end to end. GDPR isn't a checkbox for us, it's the default. And because the platform is built on open standards like containers and buildpacks, there's no lock-in: your app can leave any time. We think that's what real sovereignty looks like — the freedom to stay.

And choosing Europe shouldn't be a sacrifice. Too often, "hosted in the EU" comes with clunky tooling, dated dashboards, and support that never answers. Sovereignty shouldn't mean settling for mediocre — you deserve a developer experience that competes with the best, and keeps your data at home.
